I was so excited to get this book in the mail. I loved Masterpiece, but knew my kindergartener couldn't read it yet. This is a great "I CAN READ" version for those new readers. It was a great story all on it's own. (It was NOT meant to be a continuation of MASTERPIECE.) I can't wait for this author to create new books to go with this. That beetle is precious and I am so glad I can share it with my son.
I bought this to read to my five year old at bedtime. I wanted to introduce him to chapter books. He loves it! I’ve already ordered the next in the series.
FANTASTIC book! My 7-year old son, who is an excellent but hesitant reader devoured all 3 of these books. He could not wait to find out what happened next. I wish the author would write more, and soon!!
Excellent read aloud for four and five year olds. Some 6 year old may be able to read this themselves. As a teacher and grandparent, I loved how this series captivated the children. They couldn’t wait to hear the next chapter of each book. I’m hoping the author continues to write about Marvin and James. I will gladly suggest this series to many parents!
I purchased this book for my 8 year old based on the reviews. He loved it so much, he asked for more books about the same characters. This was not a challenging read for him but I was looking for stories that would catch his interest to help encourage reading. This hit that mark!
My first grade son LOVES this book and is able to read it on his own. Super cute story.
My 7 year old read through this book in 2 days. Some challenging words but a good reader for a 1st grader
I gave this book to my 7 yr old grandson for Christmas. He read it aloud to his mother that day. It was over 100 pages and continued until it was all done. He loved it! He's not a great reader. He loves sports, but this book grabbed him from the first page.
