M.D Massey continues the Junkyard Druid series with Moonlight Druid. While Colin is working with the werewolf pack and its alpha, Sampson, to figure out how to work with his Hyde-side, he stumbles upon a child trafficking ring feeding the Rye Mother. The storyline is quick and exciting, not leaving much downtime in the writing, just like I like it. The characters are interesting and imperfect but still come together to make an awesome finish.Unlike a lot of the independent fiction out there it seems that M.D. has spent quite a bit of time editing and proofing. I only found one instance where an 'and' was stalking around in the place of an 'an.'Try M.D. out and enjoy the ride with Colin and his friends and allies.

Urban fantasy... These books won't receive any Nobel or literature prices, bit they do their job, to entertain. It all began with Butcher... Jim Butcher and his series about a lost legion and furies... Then came Dresden. Dresden was a revelation to me and introduced me to the genre of urban fantasy. The Dresden files became more complex and "weird" until it became too complex even for the author to continue, nonetheless it was an enlightening reading. Many books and many authors later I found Kevin Hearne and his Iron Druid series that I totally enjoy, being a fan of mythology, Pantheons of different origins and specifically Celtic culture. The same thing that happened to Butcher eventually happened to Hearne. His work became to complex to be fluid and credible although they continue to be some of my favorite "killing time" reading. I then discovered John Conroe and again fell, and continue, in love with his books. They are easy to read, entertain and come out on a regular basis, I devour his books as soon as they are published, and, as stated before, they are o master pieces, they do their work wonderfully. They keep me entertained. Conroe was my favorite writer untilI met Massey. Massey got to hook me up with his two book series: THEM (apocalyptic fantasy) and his Junkyard Druid. His books are fun to read, full of pop culture and very well written, his knowledge of foreign mythologies is good and got to blend it in both series. I think he went a little over the board when he decided to mix both series but he got away with it using plot twists and some polishing. THEM series is over but this young Druid keeps doing his work and I am not ashamed to recognize I am hooked to him. I can't wait to read the next books and discover how this young MacCool lad will fare against the enormous antagonists he has to face as well as his overly complex allies. Good work Massey. Keep them coming.

This is the third book in this series and I grow to like the series more with each book. The way Mr. Massey weaves the different types of fae into each story is amazing. And as with book two, I appreciate that it's not all werewolves and vampires as with so much urban fiction today. My only negative to the book is that like many of the self publishing authors I've read, the book could've used a final proof read to catch typos and the like. They weren't enough too detract from the reading, but they were noticeable.Definitely worth reading this series of you just want a fun, quick read in the urban fiction genre.

My rating reflects the great story stelling and balance of heart and action. Colin's story of struggle against his riastrad was compelling because it extended to the wolf pack which was center in this book. Colin's struggle whether he made the right decision in going to Samson felt genuine and real all the while investigating the missing children which was driver of this book. We also learn a lot more about Meave the fairy Queen. The battle scenes we well crafted and described. I can't wait to read the next book.

Colin McCool is such a great character! Fay children are going missing in Austin and he gets hired to find a lost Red Cap child. Colin is also dealing with his curse which causes him to "hulk out" and be uncontrollably violent. So while he's on the case he's also attempting to learn control from other shifters - the local werewolf pack. Great story!

...And righteously kick some ass. An enjoyable world of magic, shifters, Fair Folk, and the modern world, and humor, romance, and wisdom. I've been reading this series exclusively since I finished the first book, and it only gets better. Looking forward to the next, and hating the day I reach the end of the latest edition and have to WAIT for the next book to be written.

The stories in the series just seem to get better and better. I am waiting eagerly for the next adventure of the Junkyard Druid.

I can't wait for the next book in this series! I love that it is set in Texas, we certainly have enough other worldly action here that this story line just feels natural and at home. McCool, that says it all!
