Although apparently aimed at young girls and written in a very simple style, this is a very informative book and gives a lot of backstage tidbits. It also documents Darci's struggles with injury and her triumphant return to the stage. I recommend this book to aspiring ballerinas.
When I bought this I didn't realize it was for children, but I'm enjoying it all the same!
Lovely and inspirational for a young dancer
I bought this book at Stands bookstore in lower Manhatten in the 1990s. I bought it for myself and kept it for all these years because I was a fan of ballet and loved going to Lincoln center. In all the years after I bought this book my niece was born and she became a ballerina. I gave her this book because it meant so much to me . She has been accepted into many ballets workshops including one in California where she met Darci Kistler and presented her with this book. She signed it for her and I very much appreciate Ms. Kistler's kindness to my twelve year old niece.
